African Palace Makes Things Happen On a chilly Johannesburg morning my associates and I awaited the arrival of one of the lucky winners of our Play Online, Play in France competition. The Intercontinental Hotel at the OR Tambo Airport provided the setting as we wanted to ensure that Willy K and his wife were definitely on their way to France after three days of uncertainty regarding Visas and passports. But on this cold Thursday morning, there was a definite sense of ardor as the warmth of winning overwhelmed the Kriels as we presented them with giant rugby ticket symbolic of their huge win.
Willy and Sue jetted off to Paris this earlier today just as eager to watch the Rugby World Cup semi-finals and final in France as they are to be enjoying a wonderful trip to Paris, courtesy of African Palace. Willy, who runs his own IT company, had this to say about his win: “It’s an honour to be going. It’s the kind of thing that happens to other people, not me, so this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity!” This is the first time Willie and Sue are visiting Europe. “It’s also the first time in over twenty years that we will be vacationing without the kids, said an excited Sue. “We want to do a lot of sightseeing in-between the games – like visiting the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre – something I’ve always wanted to see.”
Seeing the joy and happiness emanating from the happy couple really leaves one with a sense of satisfaction, particularly when one is instrumental in being a part of the reason for that that joy. And as the ecstatic Sue held back the tears of elation, I couldn’t help but feel that African Palace has begun the season of giving in the most ideal way. The win includes roundtrip airfare between South Africa and France, ten days in Paris, tickets to watch the Boks take on Argentina and the England and France match as well as the resulting final. They also get transport to and from the matches, a Springbok rugby jersey, luxury hospitality at a four-star hotel, and a Sony camera with which the Kriels will document their trip for the African Palace website.
