7,300 Players to Partake in the 2010 WSOP

The second largest live poker tournament in history, kicks off soon. The breakdown of the tournament is as follows: a field of 7,319 players will play for a prize pool of $68,798,600. 747 places will be paid out, with the Main Event Champ winning $8,944,138. Last place will walk away with a rather satisfying $19,263. The largest Main Event was the 2006 WSOP Main Event which saw 8,773 players and a prize pool of $82,512,162. First prize in 2006 was $12 million and was won by Jamie Gold.
