Betfair attacks Treasury
6 August 2009
UK’s biggest online betting exchange group, Betfair, has joined a number of other bookmakers in attacking the Treasury’s online gambling tax rates. The company is even considering moving their operations to Malta should the tax situation within the UK worsen. David Yu, Betfair’s CEO, commented that the company remained committed to Britain. This followed the announcement from William Hill yesterday detailing the company’s move to Gibraltar. Ladbrokes looks set to follow.
