London Casino Sues Johannesburg Businessman
03 May 2010
The Aspinalls Club, one of London’s most prestigious casino’s, has sued a Johannesburg businessman for losses incurred. The casino claim that the man, who’s identity is unknown, lost approximately £100,000 (about R1 million) in one night at the casino in 2006. He allegedly ‘paid’ the casino with two cheques, each to the value of £50,000. The casino was later shocked to learn that the cheques bounced and have since not be able to get the man to pay up. Even though the Johannesburg man has been a member at Asspinals for several years, they will not let sleeping dogs lie and vow to go ahead with the lawsuit. Whether the man will be ordered to pay up by the courts, remains to be seen.
