Net Nanny for gambling
8 June 2009
The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation announced earlier this month that they have developed a new software programme for parents which will block access to gambling websites. A world first, the development of the software was prompted following a study conducted in 2006 that discovered that children were gambling online three times as often as adults. Marie Mullally, CEO of the company, said that this trend was also more common in boys. Called BetStopper, the software was launched to the public at the ‘We Love Children’ exhibition in Halifax.
