Phumelela To Open Online Casino

South African horseracing conglomerate, Phumelela Gold Enterprises has entered into an agreement with Dragonfish subsidiary, 888 Holdings, to bring an online casino offering to the market.

Phumelela Gold is a joint endeavour between Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Ltd and Gold Circle. The company will initially be responsible only for the online sportbook product but once the National Gambling Act amendments have been approved, there are plans to introduce a variety of casino, Poker and other instant games to the site.

Phumelela CEO Rian du Plessis has said “As a recognised world leader in harnessing the latest technology to globalise horseracing, we are very happy to sign with a partner that can provide us with market leading technology to expand our offering worldwide.” Dragonfish MD, Gabi Campos, stated that “Horseracing is the largest sector in worldwide sportsbetting and we are delighted to work with a global leader in this area. Phumelela has a huge support base in SA and this deal will ensure that they have the best tools to provide a cutting edge online gaming offering to their customers.”
