PokerRoom Bids Farewell

One of the industry’s longest running Poker rooms has closed down. PokerRoom was one of forerunners in the halcyon days of internet gambling ten years ago and was responsible for introducing many innovations to the industry as a whole. One such feature introduced was the use of avatars.

However, following an amicable takeover deal by Bwin Interactive, PokerRoom ceased to exist. PokerRoom players were invited to move their accounts to the Bwing casino Poker gambling network or to cash out their accounts. Bwin Interactive in one of the largest online based gambling consortiums in the world and operates Poker Room, bingo sites, sports betting and casinos. The company plans to use the PokerRoom brand to increase market share in Europe, Mexico, the UK and Canada.
