Lotto Price Increase Bad News

Lotto fanatics will be paying an extra R1 a line from the 26th March 2009. Many players from across the country have expressed their disappointment and anger at what they see as an unnecessary price increase. Many South Africans said that the recession made it difficult to carry on playing and with the price increase, they may not be able to continue with their weekly fix. Others have said they will continue to play but will set a limit to the amounts they use. Consumer unions commented that the increase was ‘disturbing’ as the Lottery Board was not suffering from losses.
